In pursuance of our letter of the 22nd inst., we now

have the pleasure to advise you that, in order to provide our

Agent, Mr-Humphrey Cheetham, with proper support for the con-

duct of the Canton part of the business, we have appointed as

his Advisers Messrs.Reise & Co. of Hongkong and Canton, one

of the oldest and largest firms in China, as you are probably
